Professor Miriam Johnson holder gæsteforelæsning om “Palliation of chronic (persistent) breathlessness fredag den 28. oktober 2022 kl. 10-11 på Zoom.
AUH har den store ære at få besøg af professor Miriam Johnson, UK, som er én af de førende forskere inden for åndenød ved uhelbredeligt syge patienter uafhængig af grundsygdom. Oplægget vil være relevant for alle klinikere og forskere, der arbejder med denne patientgruppe.
Miriam Johnson is Professor of Palliative Medicine at Hull York Medical School, Director of the Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre at the University of Hull, UK, and Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia, and past consultant palliative physician Saint Catherine’s Hospice, Scarborough, UK.
Her interests include mechanisms and management of breathlessness and inequalities in palliative care service provision e.g. for people with non-malignant disease such as heart failure and respiratory disease. Her projects employ a wide range of research methodologies (clinical trials of drug or complex interventions, qualitative studies, observational, secondary data analysis, data linkage studies) and collaborative partners are involved across different disciplines and countries.
For 20 years she was a consultant palliative physician and set up one of the UK’s first integrated palliative/heart failure services.
