TYAC Conference 2021

This years theme: Choosing a road to recovery: Innovation, wellbeing and compassion in teenage and young adult cancer care

It is a virtual event on the afternoons of 22nd and 29th September 2021 (UK timezone).

The conference offers TYAC members (and non-members) a unique opportunity to come together to share news and updates, in TYA cancer over the course of two afternoons.


Day 1 is about reflection, and topics include:

  • Emotional labour of healthcare professionals in TYA cancer care
  • Loneliness and connection during COVID
  • Moving forwards using the pro-social approach
  • Sharing our COVID experiences and where we go from now.

Day 2 is about recovery, and topics include:

  • Working in partnership
  • Support for patients, family, and friends
  • Alike – the new digital cancer community
  • Digital innovation during a pandemic
  • Fill the gap – where to go in TYA research

You will hear from leading UK speakers as well as updates, reflecting on the effect on healthcare workers during COVID-19, positives that came from the pandemic along with latest research as well as the chance to meet with friends and colleagues from our cancer community. 

We will also showcase the outstanding work of our researchers through posters and abstracts. 

Practical information

Conference attendance is £10 per day, or £15 for both days (discount available for members only). (Please note, days need to be booked separately.)
